Travelling through Italy you will also discover the delicious dishes which each region claims has an historical origin, from the Milanese "Ossobuco" to the Venetian "Liver and onions"; from the Ligurian "Fish soup" to the rich "Tortellini alla Bolognese"; from the juicy "Fiorentina"style steak to the Roman "Abbacchio"; from the Sardinian cheeses and grilled meats to the Neapolitan "Pizza"; from the "Orecchiette" in Bari to the Sicilian grilled "Sword-fish". Whether you stop at a small family-run trattoria or at a fashionable and very exclusive restaurant, you will find courteous people eager and willing to help you choose your food and of course the wine to accompany it. A typical Italian meal begins  with an "antipasto" which can be made of cured meats: "prosciutto", "salame", "coppa", "bresaola", or  a sea food salad, or vegetables or fresh "mozzarella" cheese. The antipasto is followed by a first course of pasta or soup and by the main course can be meat, poultry or fish, accompanied by various cooked vegetables or crisp salads. To end the meal you will have a choice of fresh fruit, luscious home-made cakes or one of the thousand varieties of  ice-creams.

After such a meal you may find you need a "digestive". This will vary from Region to Region but is usually an infusion of herbs or fruits in alcohol. Some of the most popular ones are "Nocino" (made with walnuts) and "Limoncello" (made with lemon rind). Of course, you may also consider finishing your meal with a breathtaking "Grappa". Salute!

We look forward to welcoming you and assisting you to make the best of the time you decide to spend in Italy, so that your holiday will be remembered with joy and repeated with enthusiasm!
